Warranty

Warranty

Every piece purchased with Bons comes with a 2-week warranty. Here’s what it covers and how to use it. By purchasing from Bons, you agree to these terms.

At a glance

  • 2-week warranty on every piece, from the day it’s delivered to you
  • Repairs only. All sales are final, and we don’t offer returns, refunds or exchanges, apart from shipping damage and authenticity (see below).
  • Damaged in shipping? Tell us within 48 hours and we’ll repair it, or refund the full cost if it can’t be repaired.
  • Questions? Email us at hellobonsvintage@gmail.com.

Your 2-week warranty

Every piece is covered for 2 weeks (14 days) from the date of delivery. If it develops a fault under normal use, send it back and we’ll repair it free of charge, parts and labour included.

Covered faults include:

  • The watch stops or won’t run (a flat battery doesn’t count)
  • Timekeeping well outside the normal range for its age and calibre
  • For mechanical watches: automatic winding, day/date change or crown setting stops working

Good to know:

  • The warranty covers the original buyer only.
  • Keep your order confirmation. We’ll need it to check your delivery date.
  • A warranty repair doesn’t extend or restart the 2 weeks.

If your watch arrives damaged

If your watch is damaged in shipping, we’ll make it right. Once we’ve seen the damage, we’ll handle it in one of three ways:

  • Repairable: we fix it for free and cover shipping both ways. This applies when the watch can be restored to how it looked and worked in the listing, at a reasonable cost. For example: a cracked crystal, loose or bent hands, a jolted movement or a bent bracelet link.
  • Unrepairable: full refund of what you paid, including shipping. This applies when parts aren’t available, an irreplaceable original part is damaged, or the repair would cost more than half the sale price. The damaged watch must be sent back to us. For example: a cracked original dial, a cracked case or a broken movement with no parts available.
  • Minor cosmetic: your choice of a free repair, or keeping the watch with a partial refund. This applies when the watch works normally and the damage is small and only affects its looks. For example: a light scuff, a small mark on the crystal or a minor bracelet dent.

To claim for shipping damage:

  1. Email us within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Send photos of the outer box, the inner packaging and the watch.
  3. Include an unboxing video, filmed in one take from the sealed parcel. Claims without one may be declined.
  4. Keep all the packaging until your claim is settled.

Damage reported after 48 hours, or anything visible in the listing photos, doesn’t count as shipping damage.

What’s not covered

Vintage watches are decades old and need gentle care. The warranty doesn’t cover:

  • Water or moisture. Treat every vintage watch as not water resistant, whatever the dial or caseback says.
  • Drops and knocks after delivery
  • Magnetism from phones, speakers, laptops, bag clasps and similar
  • Wear and cosmetic condition of the case, crystal, dial, hands, bezel, bracelet or strap
  • Anything shown or described in the listing, including normal vintage variation in accuracy
  • Opening or repairs by anyone else without our approval. This voids the warranty.
  • Batteries and wear parts, such as straps, gaskets and crowns
  • Misuse, like over-winding or changing the date between about 9pm and 3am

How to make a warranty claim

  1. Contact us within your 2-week warranty with your order number, a short description of the problem, and photos or a video.
  2. We’ll reply with next steps. Depending on the repair, we’ll either give you instructions for sending the watch to us, or approve a watch shop near you (see “Repairs and shipping” below).
  3. Please wait for our go-ahead before posting the watch or taking it to a shop. Unannounced parcels may be refused.
  4. Don’t open the watch or take it to another watchmaker unless we’ve approved it. Otherwise this voids the warranty.

Repairs and shipping

  • Timing: repairs usually take 2–6 weeks. Some vintage parts take longer to find, and we’ll keep you updated.
  • Hard-to-find parts: we’ll use the closest suitable replacement, or agree another solution with you (not a refund).
  • Sending it to us: if we ask you to send the watch in, it’s handled by post or courier. We don’t offer drop-off or collection. Use a tracked, insured service and pack the watch securely. We aren’t responsible for loss or damage on the way to us.
  • Repairing it at a shop near you: for some repairs, you can take the watch to a watch shop yourself instead of shipping it to us. Check with us first so we can confirm the repair is covered. Send us the shop’s receipt and we’ll reimburse the cost, so you don’t need to ship the watch back to us.
  • Shipping costs: for covered repairs, you pay to send the watch to us and we pay to return it within Singapore. Overseas customers pay shipping both ways, plus any duties, taxes and courier fees.

Authenticity

Every piece is sourced from trustable channels, then tested and individually photographed before it’s listed. In the rare case a piece turns out not to be authentic, we’ll give you a full refund.

To claim:

  1. Email us within 14 days of delivery if you believe a piece isn’t authentic.
  2. Send us a written report from an independent watch expert or the brand’s service centre confirming it isn’t authentic, within 30 days of delivery.
  3. Return the watch to us unaltered, as we sent it. We’ll refund you in full once we’ve received it.

No returns or refunds

Every piece is one of a kind and listed with detailed photos, its condition and its maximum wrist size. Please read each listing carefully and ask us anything before you buy.

We don’t accept returns, refunds or exchanges for any reason, including change of mind, fit, or anything shown in the listing. The only exceptions for refunds are shipping damage and authenticity, as set out above.
